Loweeta McClure, a longtime resident of The Woodlands, passed away on December 25, 2015.

Mrs. McClure was born in Akron, Ohio, and moved to California where she worked as a radiological technician at LAC-USC Medical Center, and met her husband of 42 years, Eli. She moved to The Woodlands in 1985 and for many years worked for The Woodlands Corporation, both in the Community Operations department and the Information Center. She will be dearly missed by the multitude of friends she made during her tenure there.

As a member of the community, Mrs. McClure immersed herself in local efforts that have since become cornerstone activities and images shaping The Woodlands. Mrs. McClure is the creator of The Woodlands mascot, "Puffy the Pinecone." In addition, she helped spearhead celebrations around the Fourth of July and events honoring the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. She also delighted thousands of area children with her, "Thumbkins U.S.A," creations and held patents in other creative endeavors.

She was also a devoted and founding member of St. Paul's Baptist Church, now known as, "Impact Church of The Woodlands." Mrs. McClure was throughout her life unwavering in her commitment to serve God.

She is survived by her loving husband; Eli McClure, daughter; Tausheli McClure, mother ; Minister Thelma H. Evans all of The Woodlands. Her brothers: Mervin and Marvin Evans and Marvin's wife Mattie, Nephew Matthew Seth Evans and his wife Tiffany and their children. A ll of Akron. As well as many cousins throughout the country.

A Memorial Service will be held for he Saturday January 2, 2016 at 11:00am at Impact Church of The Woodlands 5401 Shadowbend Place, The Woodlands, TX 77381
