A Memorial Service for Luman Burr of The Woodlands, Texas will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in The Chapel at Conroe Funeral Directors with the Rev. Ray Hyden officiating. Mr. Burr was born on October 7, 1941 in Normal, Illinois and passed away peacefully on March 16, 2013 in The Woodlands, Texas. He was 71 years old. Luman is survived by his loving family: wife, Amalia Burr; sons, Hudson R. Burr and Luman Burr, Jr. and wife, Leticia Ortiz Guzman; sisters, Charlotte B. Modhal, Ann H. Burr Smith and husband, Kenneth and Marcia Burr; grandchildren, Charlotte Burr, Hudson Burr, Dylan Burr, Luman Burr, and Luman Burr; sister-in-law, Rosalba Ortiz, friend, Alexander Dow; nephew, Robert Dow; numerous other dear relatives and friends also survive. Luman lived and teached Algebra in Los Angeles for many years before moving to The Woodlands. He was a hard working, well respected man who was extremely generous with his time when it came to others. Luman loved politics, old steam engine trains, biking, the great outdoors and he especially enjoyed bird watching. He was a great family man and will be dearly missed.
