Mabel Edith "M. E." Oliver went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 22, 2015. She was born July 29, 1919, in New Orleans, Louisiana. M. E. was a resident of Montgomery County since moving from Houston in 1965. She was organist and active member of April Sound Church since 1986. Her community activities included past President of the church Ladies Auxiliary; eleven year graduate of Bible Study Fellowship; volunteer at Conroe Regional Hospital in the gift shop; member of Lake Conroe Area Republican Women; former member of Kiwanis; former officer of Civil Air Patrol and licensed pilot; and active member of April Sound Ladies Association since 1995. M. E. will be remembered best for her musical talent, her gift from God, which she shared with her many friends. She accompanied the Notables, a group of ladies representing the Montgomery County Choral Society, and entertained at several local senior residences monthly. Mabel Edith was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 wonderful years, Jim Oliver, her parents, L. Harry and Mabel Saint Lawrence, her brother Harry and her grandson, Cary Wayne Oliver. She is survived by three sons, Jim Oliver Jr and wife Jaina of Arizona, Ron Oliver and wife Karen of Glenwood Springs, CO, and Lance Oliver of Montgomery, TX., seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren, and other relatives and many special friends who enriched her life. The memorial service will be held on September 16, at 10 AM at April Sound Church with Pastors Dowen Johnson and Robert Nuttall presiding. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall. Private interment will be at Forest Park Lawndale, Houston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the music department of April Sound Church or "Helping Hands" ministry of April Sound Church.
