Marcos Heriberto Valdez, 93, of Conroe, Texas, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away peacefully on September 13, 2014 surrounded by his family. Mr. Valdez was born on October 7, 1920 in Cadereyta Jimenez, N.L. Mexico, to Victor Valdez and Maria Eufracia Elizondo Valdez. Marcos was preceded in death by his loving wife, Genoveva (Perez) and four of their nine children, Renato Javier Valdez, Mirtala Valdez, Marianela Valdez and Leticia Valdez Flores. He is survived by his children, Juan Victor Valdez, Marcos H. Valdez, Jr., Laura H. Valdez Matchett, Miguel G. Valdez and Genoveva Valdez Mendoza, as well by his brother, Juan Valdez, 21 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and numerous other dear relatives. Marcos was a master machinist who worked for over 30 years for Wyatt's Ind. in Houston Texas. He served in the Mexican Army as an officer, following in his father's footsteps, Victor, who bravely fought in the Mexican Revolution. Marcos and his wife immigrated to the United States in the early 1950's. He was a gentleman who loved his family dearly, and was most proud of all of them. In his retirement, Marcos researched his family roots and genealogy and was successful in tracing his family back to the 1600's. Welito, as he was lovingly called by all of his grandchildren, will be greatly missed.
