Services for Margie May Tindall, 83, of Lufkin, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 6, 2016 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Ronnie Frankens officiating. Entombment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Margie was born May 12, 1932 in Weches, Texas, the daughter of the late Ruth (Harkins) and John May. She passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in a local nursing facility.

Margie graduated from Lufkin High School in 1948. She was a hard worker and excelled in her career with Lufkin-Conroe Telephone Exchange. She retired with 34 years of service, having achieved the position of Personnel Director. She made many close, lifelong friends at LCTX and, most importantly, met and married the love of her life and husband of 43 years, Norman Ray Tindall.

After retiring together in 1989, Margie and Norman travelled all over the United States and Canada in their motor home. They enjoyed discovering new places and making new friends.

Margie was active in the Pilot Club and the LHS Alumni Association. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother with a vibrant personality. She enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners for her family and adored her grandchildren. Margie was a member of Redland Baptist Church and later attended Greater Love Tabernacle.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Jordan Smith of McKinney; daughters, Terrie Luce and Sherrie Luce, both of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Leah Tindall of Lufkin and Melvin and Pam Tindall of Conroe; son, Mike Tindall of Houston; granddaughter, Lacey Rainey and husband Jason of Crossroads, Texas; great-grandchildren, Emma and Hudson Rainey; 9 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Bo and Cheryl May of Lufkin; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Tindall in 2013; brothers, Mac May and William May; and sisters, Florine Brown, Maxine Ellis and Elizabeth Weeks.

Pallbearers will be John Brown, Jr., Jordan Tindall, Joshua Tindall, Eric Tindall, John May and Wayne Weeks.
