Marguerite Juanita Strobel Matthews was born January 7, 1937 in Atlanta, Georgia, and passed away on February 9, 2013 in Conroe, Texas at the age of 76. She retired as a paralegal and also worked for the City of Houston. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She had a great since of humor, quick smile and loving attitude. She will be missed by all until we see her again in heaven. Until then she will be in good company with Jesus, friends and family that have already gone to be with the Lord. She is survived by her husband of 58 years Donald Matthews, by her two daughters: Elizabeth Wimberly and her husband Donald of Houston, Texas, and Susan Jordan and her husband John of Willis, Texas, by her son Don Matthews Jr. and his wife Kim of Porter, Texas, by her sisters: Norma White, Mary Lemond, Rebecca Schelnick, Betty Bailes, and Barbara Hembree, and her two brothers Johnny Strobel and Larry Strobel. Her special grandchildren include: Donnie Wimberly Jr., Jason Wimberly, Brittney Jordan, Joshua Jordan, and Caleb Jordan. She also had four great grandchildren: Alexis Wimberly, Torrey Wimberly, Tabatha Wimberly, and Bryton Wimberly, along with several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Abe and Juanita Marguerite Meadows Strobel, and one brother Robert Strobel. There will be a Memorial Service in the Cashner Colonial Chapel on Wednesday February 13, 2013 at 3:00 pm with Bro. Charles Smith as officiate. Visit our website at
