Mariann Ros McRae died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017 in Fort Worth at the age of 88 surrounded by her family.

Mariann Adeleith Ros was born May 1, 1928 in Pascagoula, Mississippi. She was raised in Mississippi and Louisiana, and graduated from high school at St. Mary of the Pines in Chatawa, Mississippi in 1945. She attended Louisiana State University, where she met her future husband Richard Guy McRae. They were married Oct. 29, 1949.

Mrs. McRae lived her adult life in the states of Louisiana, Texas and Oklahoma. She was a longtime resident of Conroe, Texas, and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a generous and caring supporter of many Church activities throughout her life, and maintained a special relationship with the Ladies of Sacred Heart Workshop and Sewing Circle. Mrs. McRae was an avid golfer and a member of the Ladies Golf Association at River Plantation Country Club for many years. Her favorite hobby was gardening. Her green thumb covered the spectrum of trees to flowers, with a special fondness for roses. She loved taking road trips through the Texas countryside during the wildflower season.

Mrs. McRae was the true embodiment of living faith, and was an unending source of love, joy, compassion and understanding for all who knew her. Her faith was a gift she left behind for her family and many friends, and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
