A Life Lived Well

Marie Elise ("Tease") Gremillion, Bonnette, Collins, age 97, passed away on Thursday, the 31st of January, 2013. She was born to Edna Marie Delvaille and Eustice Jean Gremillion on August 2, 1915 in Alexandria, Louisiana. Tease followed her Lord as he asked us to do. It seems her younger brother Louie had a hard time as a child pronouncing "Elise", and it came out as "Tease". Needless to say, the name stuck and later became "Grandma Tease", "Great Tease" and many other variations.

Tease was preceded in death by her first husband Alaric Bonnette, her parents, two sisters, her oldest son Jean Peter Bonnette, and grandson David Brodnax. She leaves to mourn, her dear devoted husband Bill Collins, daughters Aline Fagan and Dianne Morris, son Christopher ("Kit") Bonnette, twelve grandchildren, five step-granchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, as well as many loving and devoted friends.

Tease married Bill Collins in May of 1978. She told me that her faithful husband, Bill, was a godsend to her, especially in her last days and Tease's extended family are very thankful to Bill for being such a loving companion to Tease. We are grateful that Bill took his vows seriously, even at the very end of her life. "In sickness and in health", Bill was always there to love and care for her in any way he was able. The family is also indebted to Tease's wonderful caretakers who loved Tease like their own Grandmother.

Tease wanted us to celebrate her life, for there are many reasons to celebrate a life lived so well.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 3 at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with Rosary beginning at 7:00. Funeral services celebrating Tease's life will be held at 11:00am Monday, February 4, 2013, at Saint Anthony of Padua in The Woodlands, Bishop George Scheltz presiding. Pallbearers will be Jim Morris, Tim Morris, Tony Romano, Chris Romano, Jonathan Bonnette, James Fagan, Todd Fagan, and Rick Levy. Interment services to follow at Garden Park Cemetery.
