Marion May Amrhein Saunders passed away on November 18, 2013 in The Woodlands, TX. She was born December 23, 1932 in Plymouth, MI, the daughter of John Edgar Amrhein and Olive May Elden Amrhein. Marion graduated from Plymouth High School in 1950. She attended Michigan State University and later Sam Houston State University.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James "Jim" Boyce Saunders. They were married on February 28, 1955 in Toledo, Ohio. Jim and Marion lived in Conroe (River Plantation) for more than 30 years. Here Marion devoted her life to her husband and three children. She enjoyed golf, genealogy, craft circle, gardening and sewing.

Marion was preceded in death by her brother, John Elden Amrhein. She is survived by her sister Margaret Delia Amrhein Ault of Midland, MI and husband Larry; children Delia Saunders Pitts of Humble, TX and husband Farrell, Cindy Saunders Awalt of The Woodlands, TX, and Steven James Saunders of Waller and wife Julie; grandchildren Jesse Bonner Awalt, Hanah Noel Pitts, William Boyce Awalt and his wife Lauren, Emma Page Saunders, and Claire Elizabeth Saunders.

Graveside funeral services and burial will be held November 29, 2013 at 2pm at the Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home and Cemetery. A reception will follow indoors at the funeral home.

The Saunders Children would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of The Forum in The Woodlands, TX. Marion received much love and care in The Forum's Memory Loss Unit.
