Marjorie Louise Townley passed from this life April 22, 2017 at Unlimited Care Cottages. Marjorie (Marge) was born December 13, 1921 in Florence, Kansas to Elma Beatrice (Ray) and Earl Edwin Oliver. She married Leland Oscar Townley November 9, 1940. They were married 68 years before his passing in 2009. Marjorie lived more than 75 years in Kansas where she helped her husband and four sons graduate from Kansas State University. She was a dedicated home maker, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a ready volunteer at her United Methodist Church in Tecumseh, Kansas. She spent many years helping people with tax preparations both commercially and pro-bono. Following the death of her husband, she moved to The Woodlands, Texas to be near family. Marge made her home at The Conservatory where she knitted many hats for newborns at Memorial Hermann Hospital. She was a member of The Woodlands United Methodist Church and the Friendship Class.

Marjorie is survived by her sister, Marilou Hess of Omaha, Nebraska, by her sons: Duane (Terry) of Midland, MI, Larry (Carolyn) of The Woodlands, Texas, and Roger (Jane) of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, her daughter-in-law, Judy Townley of Dallas, Texas and by 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Leland she was preceded in death by her brother Earl Oliver Jr., brother-in-law Robert Hess and son Richard Townley.

Memorial service pending.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Woodlands UMC Foundation.
