Marla Jean Saulter, age 75, of Willis, TX, joined God and His Angels in Heaven on September 18, 2016, surrounded by her family. Marla, also known as "Bubs" by many, was born August 17, 1941 to Lila and Loren Samis of Battle Creek, Michigan.

Marla was married to Jack Saulter on March 21, 1959 in Marquette, MI. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Jack; children, son Mike Saulter of Willis, TX and wife Valerie, along with her children and grandchildren; daughter Tammy Fisk of Willis, TX and husband Pete; and son David Saulter of Willis, TX; grandchildren Renee Trammell, Joshua Saulter, Christina Phillips, Justin Saulter, Jordan Saulter, Jack Fisk, and Heather Hairelson; great-grandchildren, Savanah Berry, Jonathan Trammell, Tommy Hairelson, and Caige Hairelson. She is also survived by sister Nancy Cotton, brothers Bunky (Darryl) Samis and Poncho (Kevin) Samis, and other family members too numerous to mention.

Marla spent her time enjoying her family; her love of her children and grandchildren had no bounds. She was an avid bowler and bowled with the Golden Stars in Conroe for many, many years. She loved family gatherings and would get so excited to cook those meals, and to have her house filled all with family.

Marla was preceded in death by her son Rick Saulter; parents Lila and Loren Samis; 2 sisters, Bonnie Vicol and Shirley Martin; and 2 brothers, Dean and Lewis Samis.

Visitation with the family is scheduled for Friday, September 23 from 6-8 PM at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis, TX. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 24 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis with burial following at Smith Memorial Park Cemetery. A Celebration of her life will then be held at the Lake Conroe Hills Clubhouse, 13621 Lake Breeze Ln, Willis, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
