Bucksport, ME & Willis, TX Marleise (Chipman) Cox, 80, passed away with her children at her side on September 20, 2015 in Conroe, TX. Born in Bangor, ME, January 27, 1935, Marleise was the daughter of Ralph and Bertha (Nealley) Chipman.

Marleise was a graduate of the first class of LPNs at St Joseph's Hospital in Bangor, ME. She began her career at a hospital in Conroe TX before returning to Maine to continue her career at BMHI in Bangor. Her career at BMHI included providing patient care in several hospital units as she rose to Medication Nurse and then to the position of Charge Nurse before retiring after 28 years of service. In her retirement, she continued to enjoy the many friendships of her nursing colleagues.

Marleise spent time during her retirement playing bridge with friends and actively contributed to her community, participating as a member of Floral Grange and with the church, both in Bucksport and Willis. She was a constant companion to her mother until she passed in 2006 and she fostered friendship wherever she went. Marleise was also especially fond of animals and lucky was the stray who was fortunate enough to wander by her door!

She is survived by Son Ralph Cox and wife Cindi (Boyington) Cox and twin granddaughters Abigail and Elizabeth; Daughter Lisa Chipman (Cox) and granddaughters Melinda Novak and J-Lyn Farren; Aunt Mabel Nealley of Winterport, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins in both Maine and Texas.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Deryl and his immediate and extended family for their love, care and support these past few years in Texas.

Marleise will be buried beside her Mother and Father at the Riverview Cemetery in North Bucksport, Maine. A mid-October interment and gathering of her family and friends is planned.
