Martha Hope Tillery

April 7, 1929 - August 1, 2012

Martha has crossed over the beautiful Jordan River into the waiting arms of Jesus. First to greet her will be her husband of 57 years, Robert, then her parents Ernest and Ima Cribbs, her sisters, Faith Morris and Frankie Graham and her grandson, Kort Clifton. She was born on a farm in Thalia, TX and was the second of five girls. She met the love of her life in Vernon, TX, the day he returned from WWII in 1946. They married that same year. They loved to travel and were given many opportunities to see the world though Dad's work with Boeing Aircraft. They retired and enjoyed many happy years in Bossier City.

Celebration of life service will be held for Martha on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. Dr. Randy Harper will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 4, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park.

She is survived by two sisters, Kay Farenga of New York City and Judith Nations of Rogers, AR. She is also survived by two daughters, Shari Clifton and husband Robert, Vicki Lunog and husband Robert; four grandchildren, Kyle Clifton of Sabetha, KS, Carrie Clifton of Tomball, TX, Marti Stafford of Leawood, KS, Tracie Garcia of The Woodlands, TX and twelve great grandchildren in whom she took great pride and joy, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She will be remembered for her lasting beauty, her quick wit, and her "old sayings" (and she had one for everything!). She will also be remembered for her remarkable ability to overcome many illnesses, accidents, and obstacles in her life which earned her the nicknames as the Energizer Bunny, or the Terminator, and not least "the Comeback Queen".

Pallbearers will be Robert Clifton, Butch Graham, Robert Lunog, Matt Stafford, Jordan Chapman, Grant Stafford, and honorary pallbearer, Kyle Clifton.

We wish to thank Silverado Hospice and Above and Beyond Assisted Living in Conroe, TX for their care and support in Mother's final days.

Memorials may be made in her honor to: Bellaire Baptist Church, Building Fund.
