Mary Anne Ireland, age 75, was born December 17, 1939 in Minneapolis Minnesota to Bernard and Sylvia (Keenan) Buckley. Her mother died when she was a toddler and she was raised by her Grandparents, Anna and Dennis Buckley of Pingree, North Dakota.

She graduated from Pingree High School, worked at the North Dakota State Hospital, and attended Jamestown College (North Dakota) studying Nursing and Spanish.

On January 23, 2000 she married the love of her life and Soul-Mate Roger Ireland. The two moved to Panorama Village, Texas in 1992. They enjoyed golfing and golf tournaments. Mary was well known for energetically jumping into all that life offered. An avid reader and gardener, she was also known for her plant and flower gardens. She passed away peacefully at home after a valiant fight with cancer with her husband and daughter at her side. Interestingly, her rare night-blooming Cereus cactus bloomed that morning, at the exact time of her death.

Mary Anne was preceded in death by her Parents, Bernard and Sylvia Buckley, and her Grandparents Anna and Dennis Buckley.

Mary Anne is survived by her husband of 32 years, Roger Ireland, Her Daughter, Karen (Mark) Hastings Ereth, Rochester, Minnesota, and Grandchildren Michael and Jessica Hastings Ereth, Rochester, Minnesota. She is also survived by her Step-Son Mark (Lucia) Ireland and Granddaughter Magnolia Ireland of Northridge, California, and Step-Daughter Cheri (Rob) Slatter of Las Vegas, Nevada. Sister-in-Law Patty (Alan) Pitney of Devner, Colorado, Niece Leslie (Adam) Pitney Schaffner of Centennial, Colorado, and Cousin Michael Freer, Sun City, Arizona also survive.

Special thanks to the Embracing Hospice Nursing team and the Broadmoor at Creekside Park staff for their remarkable care.

A Memorial Service and Reception will be held Tuesday, November 24th at 3pm, Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas.
