Mary Jane Merrell Fountain passed away Friday, December 19, in Willis, TX. She was the daughter of Emma Jane and Henry Orville Merrell. She was born in Ogden, Arkansas on August 20, 1941. She made her home in Orange, Texas, for many years following her graduation from West Orange High School. Her working life was as a professional photographer for 30 years in Orange. In the late nineties, she relocated to the Willis area. Mary Jane is survived by her only child, David Allen Kight of Willis, and two grandchildren, Mitchell Allen Kight and Madison Alysse Kight of Willis. She is also survived by a half-sister, Betty Merrell Chaney, of Bloomfield, CO, two nieces; Linda Kay Merrell Wise of Houston, TX and Joan Jenell Merrell Duncan of Bridge City, TX and a step-sister, Lois Mize of Cleveland, TX. In remembrance of her life, friends and family are invited to a Memorial Visitation at Conroe Community Church on Tuesday, December 23 between 3:00 and 5:00 in the afternoon. The church is located at 206A South Loop 336 W, Conroe, TX.
