Mary Kathleen (Kathy) Nelson entered the gates of Heaven July 9, 2013, at the age of 63. She was born May 24, 1950 in Houston, Texas and was a graduate of Sam Houston High School.

Kathy spent most of her working life helping and serving children and adults with special needs. The last seventeen years she worked as a time auditor for Texas Department of Justice. In both careers she was loved and respected and developed numerous life-long friendships.

The most important thing in Kathy's life was her family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, Nanny, sister and daughter.

She is survived by her husband of 26 years, John Nelson; daughter and son-in-law, Raymie and Doug Needham; daughter, Kimberly Ditsch; six grandchildren: Andrew, Kaci, Kori, Makenzi, Brandon, and Ian; her step-father, Clay Wroten; brother, Bryan Causey and wife Marilyn; brother, Tommie Causey and wife Eva; sister, Diana Paccini and husband Nate; brother, Larry Causey and wife Denise; brother, Michael Lee Causey and wife Linda; brother, Cleabert Wroten; sister Marie Wallace and husband David; brother, Douglas Wroten and wife Cathy; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Kathy was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Wroten, father, Tommie Causey, and sister, Sandra Gates.

A Memorial service will be held Friday, July 12, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel at West Conroe Baptist Church.

Kathy was truly a smart, beautiful, courageous, and loving woman. Her smile and beautiful blue eyes will be deeply missed. The family would like to thank everyone for their words of encouragement, prayers, and support over the past 6 months. A special thank you is extended to The Vineyard class at West Conroe Baptist Church for all the meals provided to Kathy and the family over this time.
