Mayme Pierce Lazenby, a 41 year resident of Conroe, TX passed away on May 22, 2014. She was born the first of two daughters in Starkville, MS to Simeon and Eva Pierce on February 29, 1936. After graduation from Starkville High School, she attended and graduated from Touro Infirmary School of Nursing in New Orleans, LA. and began her career in nursing. In 1957, she married Lawton Lazenby and in 1973, they moved with their family to Conroe, TX.

One of Mayme's greatest passions was needlepoint. She stitched amazing pieces, some of which are displayed at the Conroe Public Library and the chapel kneelers at Conroe Regional Medical Center. She even had an ornament on the White House Christmas tree. As a member of the Piney Pointers Chapter of the American Needle Point Guild for over forty years, Mayme designed and chartered the name tag and held many offices including President, Program Director, and Newsletter Developer. She was a member of Lone Star and San Bernadino Chapters of the American Needlepoint Guild. Mayme also taught finishing classes in and around the Houston area. Her work and talent are well loved and respected.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 49 years, Lawton L. Lazenby and her two daughters, Terry Gordon and Lisa Faria.

Mayme is survived by her loving family: sons, Steven P. Lazenby and wife Pam of North Richland Hills, TX, Conner S. Lazenby and wife Christine of Conroe, TX, Four Grandchildren, Emily Lazenby Lyle and husband Wade, Katherine Lazenby, Andrew Lazenby, and Luke Lazenby.

Grave side service will be held Saturday, June 7th, 1:30 p.m. at Garden Park Cemetery/Cashner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Montgomery County Women's Shelter at
