Mickey Hobbs Clayton went to meet her Lord on Saturday January 28, 2012. A native of Montgomery County, she was born at Leonidas (near Conroe) on July 24, 1924. The first daughter of Pierce and Delcie Hobbs, she resided in Conroe most of her life.

She was an honor student and member of Conroe High School Band and a 1941 graduate of CHS. She was a 50 plus year member of First Baptist Church Conroe. She was an active member of the Hospital Auxiliaries in Conroe for more than 20 years.

For many years she was active in League Bowling and Golfing. A member of Panorama County Club since 1987 she was also an avid Bridge player. She served as Ladies Assn. Treasurer in 2000. In the enjoyment of these activities she developed many lifetime and cherished friendships.

In her later years she delighted in traveling the North American Continent, Caribbean, Panama Canal, Ireland and Japan with friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband J.D. Clayton, and sister Bonnie Futch. She is survived by her son, Lloyd Duffy Clayton and wife Judy; grandson Steven Clayton of Houston. Also survived by her sister; Joyce (Jobo) and her husband J.O. (Corky) McCorquodale of Austin. Nephews; Pierce Futch of Conroe and Lenon Futch of Austin, Jimmy McCorquodale of Rockport, Kenny McCorquodale of Houston. Nieces; Danita Futch of Austin and Teresa Schmidt of San Antonio.

Visitation will be Tuesday January 31, 2012 from 5 to 7 P.M. Funeral Services will be at Metcalf Funeral Directors Chapel ,Wednesday February 1, 2012 at 10 A.M.
