Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Mildred "Millie" Callaway Phillips passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 due to injuries sustained in a tragic car accident.

Born on the 31st of August 1932 in Taylor, Texas, Millie was one of five children. She spent her career working at Farmers Home Administration where she retired at age 62.

Millie had a passion for gardening, loved to shop and spend time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling with her lifelong friend Jane Pullen Carroll.

Millie is preceded in death by her parents Louise and Adolph Leschber; brothers Melvin Leschber and Olin Leschber; her son Jeff Callaway; and her granddaughter Cori Callaway.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Rex Phillips, her daughter, Diane Callaway Glezman and husband Michael, her grandchildren, Amy Armstrong and husband Ryan, Brian Lucas and Nicholas Glezman, her Great Granddaughter, Addison Armstrong, and her step-children Mark Phillips and wife Beverly, Kara Walker and husband Larry and Kent Phillips, her step-grandchildren Jennifer Walker, Julie Fenley and husband Tyler, Madison Phillips and Spencer Phillips and her Great Grandson, Colt Fenley.

At age 81, Millie was more vibrant than ever. She was a woman of faith, tremendous love and an unsurpassed joy for life. She had a personality and energy that was one of a kind and touched so many that she will never be forgotten. Known as Millie, Mom and Nana; our hearts will forever hold a place for this truly special woman.

Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories of our dear Millie at a memorial service celebration of her life on Wednesday, September 3rd at 2pm. The service will be held at Metcalf Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas.
