Nelda Mae Howard Kelly, 85, formerly of Magnolia, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, December 22, 2013. She was born on January 20, 1928 in Robstown, TX to Raymond and Onida Howard. She attended Baylor University where she met the love of her life, Kenneth Kelly. They were married November 25, 1948 and she supported him and his ministry for the next 65 years as a devoted wife and mother.

An artistic and creative person, Nelda enjoyed handcrafts, was an excellent cook and seamstress and had a sharp sense of humor, especially at the domino table. Nelda's passions were working with infants and pre-school children, and being the "ultimate" pastor's wife throughout their life together. She truly enjoyed being the hostess at her home and continued being the hostess at the nursing home.

Nelda leaves behind her two children, Kenneth R. Kelly and spouse Kitty, and Nita Kelly Marshall and spouse Ray; grandchildren, Tanner Kelly, Jordan Kelly, Ray Paul and wife Kayla Marshall, and Stephen Marshall; sisters Betty Flournoy and Nell Kelly; step-brother, James B. Kelly; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Kenneth K. Kelly; her parents; one brother, Roland Howard; and step-siblings, John F. Kelly, Preston Kelly, G.C. Kelly, Sara Perry and Ruth Cornett.

A service of celebration for the life and work of this "virtuous woman" will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at First Baptist Church, Magnolia, 18525 FM 1488 with Pastor Ray Marshall officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church prior to the celebration.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a church of your choice or Hospice Brazos Valley, 502 W 26th St, Bryan 77803.
