Nicholas E. Rentz, 62 of Houston, TX passed away quietly January 3rd 2015 at his new home in Ecuador, South America. Born in Chicago Illinois he moved to Phoenix at the age of five and was a graduate of Maryvale High School in the top 3% of his class. After high school he moved to Fortworth, Texas to attend Texas Christian University where he met his lifelong friend Tom Oviatt. Nick's career of 30+ years was tennis-pro in The Woodlands and River Plantation communities. His recent retirement prompted him to travel to Ecuador where he enjoyed a quiet, beautiful, friendly, and relaxing life by the ocean. He took up gardening, read voraciously, and practiced his gourmet skills. He is survived by his mother Helen Rentz of Phoenix, son and daughter-in-law Michael and Ashley Rentz of Coppell, TX and their three children Brooks, Carrson, and Harper Jo. Step-daughters Christine Denay Aaron and her husband Eugene of Nacogdoches, TX and Jordan Nicole Faust and her husband Justin of The Woodlands, TX and step-son Brandon Lee Boone and his wife Crystal of CA and their mother Marsha Rentz of The Woodlands. Three sisters Helen Rentz and Jenny Flores of Phoenix, AZ and Anna Jones of Sparks, NV. Two nieces, one nephew, three great nieces and one great nephew. Nick was memorialized through a loving letter from Michael on Facebook and he will be memorialized on the beaches of Ecuador surrounded by loving friends Tom, Beth and Angel and his family later in January.
