Mr. Nickolas "Nick" Jackson went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 10, 2017 in Conroe, Texas at the age of 78. Nick is survived by his wife, Gay Jackson; Son, Scott Jackson and his wife Angie of Panama City, FL; Daughter, Cindy Jackson DuPaul of Conroe; Daughter Christy Jackson Volanski and her husband Nick of The Woodlands; and Son, Kyle Jackson and wife Alisha of Conroe. Thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Brother-in-law Marvin Weeks of Rusk; and Sister-in-law Barbara Jackson of Athens, Texas and numerous other relatives. Mr Jackson is preceded in death by his father, B. E. Jackson and mother, Lucile Jackson Mann; sister, Linda Weeks, brother, Gene Jackson; and grandson, David DuPaul. Nick was born on September 2, 1938 in Huntsville, Texas. He graduated from Conroe High School in 1956. He studied at Sam Houston State Teacher's College and graduated in 1961 with a BS degree in secondary education and physical science. Later, he received his Masters of Education from Texas A&M University. He married Frances Gayley (Gay) Hickerson in 1961. During his teaching career he taught math and physical science in Klein, Richards, and Conroe, TX. In the late 1960s, he was a pioneering Computer Systems Manager at the Baptist Foreign Mission Board in Richmond, VA. Later in the early 1970s, he served as one of the first Computer Systems Manager for Montgomery County in Conroe, TX. He spent his remaining working years in computer and technology sales working for Radio Shack in Huntsville and eventually founded his own business, Comp-U-Tech. Nick and Gay welcomed 4 children (Scott, Cindy, Christy, and Kyle) into their home. His children remember him as a quirky dad with unique interests in computers, physics, science fiction, outdoors adventure, and spirituality. Nick led his family at least 10 years into the future by supporting them to pursue and use technology tools in their daily lives. All became early adopters of personal computers and software in innovative ways that can be traced back to their father. Nick loved music and loved to sing. He used his musical talents in the Sam Houston State Teacher's College ROTC band on the french horn. He also performed in the church choir. He was an active and dedicated member of the West Conroe Baptist Church.
