Noel E. Arthur, 93, of Willis passed away at home on Tuesday, September 11, 2012. Noel was born in Marthaville, La on December 26, 1918 to the late Floyd and Bessie Carter Arthur. He served in the Navy during WWII. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the First Baptist Church in Willis for 46 years. Noel and his wife, Joyce, were married for 67 years before she preceded him in death on July 23, 2011. His sister, Bessie Estell and his 2 brothers, Norman and Cecil also preceded him.

Noel is survived by his daughter, Mary Colandro and husband Dick, of Willis, Tx, sons, Gregory Arthur and wife Dana, of Hardin, Tx, Michael Arthur, of Willis, Tx, Doug Arthur and wife Donna, of Conroe, Tx, Philip Arthur and wife Virginia Wagner, of Anderson, Tx, sister Bernice Thaxton, of Willis, Tx, sister-in-law, Opal Arthur, of Meridian, Ms, 19 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

A visitation will be held at Metcalf Funeral Directors, in Conroe, Texas, on Friday, September 14, 2012 from 5:00-8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012, 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Willis, Rev. James Featherstone and Rev. Charles Smith officiating. Interment will follow in County Line Cemetery.
