Oliver (Ollie) Matti Suhonen journeyed to the Lord on Saturday, July 24, 2016. Born on October 17, 1925 to Finnish immigrant parents Matti and Anna Suhonen, Ollie proudly served his country during World War II. Upon his return to the States, Ollie attended the University of Massachusetts/Fort Devens and the RCA Institute in New York City. Ollie loved sports especially his Boston Red Sox and even tried out and made the Boston Braves base ball team. His love of Scouting from an early age, lead him to become an Executive for the Boy Scouts of America. Ollie's love of life and people lead him on many adventures across America eventually ending up in Tomball, Texas where he lived for over 25 years. Tomball became his second home where he enjoyed gardening and visiting with all of his neighbors.

Ollie was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorothy, his wife Jeannette, sisters Lillian and Sylvia. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Reiland and her husband, Larry, son, Alan Suhonen and grand children Nathan Clark, David Clark, Martin Clark, John Zetelski, Ann Marie Scaglione, Sarah Hillman and Captain Robert Zetelski Jr., great grand children Nathan Clark Jr., Heather Clark, Kristen Clark, Brady & Bryce Hillman and Annabelle Scaglione. He also has one great, great grandson, Jordan Smith.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM at The Brookside Funeral Home-Champions, 3410 FM 1960 W, Houston, TX 77068. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 3 PM at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 801 E. Main Street, Tomball, TX. Burial will be held on Ollie's beloved Cape Cod at the Oak Neck Cemetery in Hyannis.
