Patricia (Patty) Kuhlmann Calfee was born June 9, 1944 in Orange County, California and passed away October 9, 2014 at her home in Conroe, Texas. Patty was a 1962 graduate of Bellaire High School in Houston. She graduated with honors from Sam Houston State University in 1966 where she was a loyal member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Patty spent many years serving the community through volunteering and participating in several committees. She was an Active Lifetime Member of the Montgomery County Fair Association and an active member of the Conroe Chamber of Commerce. One of her greatest accomplishments was her beloved business Calfee Specialties. Built from the ground up, she served her customers with great pride and joy for over 27 years. Patty grew up in Houston and moved to Conroe in 1970. In 1979, when she and Gary wed, she and her girls moved to the Calfee Farm where she enjoyed living in the abundance of farm life throughout the rest of her years. She had a particular love for growing flowers and vegetables in her 1/2 acre garden and turning them into canned delights. She loved even more sharing her creations with others. She also adored her 12 little Rhode Island Reds which provided endless entertainment and eggs. Patty was known for her love of collecting treasures and then finding the perfect spot for them in their beautiful old farm home she loved so much. She had a love for history and family heritage which shined through her decorating. Her grandchildren were the apples of her eye and she delighted in following their growth and accomplishments. Her husband was her best friend and, together, they enjoyed all the pleasures farm and town life had to offer. When she wasn't working, canning, decorating or doting, you could find her in her favorite spot, the slots in Las Vegas. Patty was preceded in death by her parents Henry Hunte Kuhlmann III and Marion Peters Kuhlmann. She is survived by her husband of 35 years Gary Calfee of Conroe, Texas, three daughters; Becky McEntire and her husband Doug of Panorama Village, Tori Berghoff and her husband Joel of San Rafael, California, and Kristin Calfee of Conroe. Patty is also survived by her brother Henry Hunte (Skip) Kuhlmann IV and his wife Rhonda. She leaves behind three nieces; Stormy, Catherine and Sarah. Her grandchildren are; Jacob Alan McEntire, Olivia Suzanne McEntire, Leo Lawrence Berghoff, Sophie Isabelle Satterwhite and Josephine Marleigh Berghoff. She is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends whom she loved dearly. Visitation will be in the Cashner Colonial Chapel on Monday, October 13, 2014 from 5-8 pm.
