Peggy Jo Holley passed away on April 11, 2018, in Spring, Texas. A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Peggy was born on February 7, 1937 at the Confederate Memorial Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana. As a child of an oilfield worker, Peggy grew up throughout the state of Louisiana from the northernmost cities to the southern city of Terrebonne; however, most of her childhood was spent in Springhill, Louisiana. The youngest of six, she grew up with one sister and four brothers. At Springhill High School, Peggy played the drums, and after high school she lived with her mother in Shreveport where she worked in an Italian café named Greco's. It was here she met the love of her life William "Bill" Holley, Jr.,who would frequent the cafe to see Peggy. For their first date Bill took Peggy up in his taildragger airplane over the Red River. They were married in Houston on June 22, 1957. The couple settled down in Baytown, Texas, where they would start their family. Peggy was a stay-at-home mom to her three boys and kept the books for the family business, Holley Aviation. Peggy enjoyed her family, gardening and cooking and always prepared large homemade dinners. Peggy had an amazing sense of humor and could always be seen laughing and joking with friends and family, even during some of her last days. Peggy is preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Bill Holley, Jr.; her parents, Nannie and David Coyle; her brothers, Don, Louis and Odell; sister Jean; stepson Jay and beloved dog Honeybear. She leaves behind sons Ronnie and fiancé Erin Swanson, Donald Wayne and wife Denise, and Monte Holley and fiancé April Haugen. Eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. We will all miss Peggy's witty sense of humor, laughter and great love for her family. Visitation is Saturday, April 14 , from 5-8 pm at Ronnie Holley's home. Funeral is Sunday, April 15, at 2 pm at Kingwood Church of Christ with reception to follow.
