Peggy Sue "King" Gunderson, 63, of Willis, Texas, daughter of Ernest and Mary King, was born January 12, 1949 in Rusk, Texas. Peggy went to be with her heavenly father September 10, 2012 after a long battle with breast cancer.

Peggy graduated from New Summerfield High School in 1967. She attended Beauty School and graduated in 1971 and later owned and operated Peggy's Fashionaire for many years. Peggy's love for music started at a very young age while performing with her family's band. Throughout her life, she continued playing bass guitar and singing with several bands. Peggy enjoyed working in her salon, gambling trips with family and friends, pitching washers, cook offs, hosting parties, trail rides, and growing beautiful plants and flowers.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Gunderson; son, Eugene Klement; sisters, Ernestine Hope and Teresa King; parents, Ernest and Mary King; granddaughter, Peggy Eileen Gruber; and mother and father-in-law, Russell and Mary Gunderson. She is survived by her daughters Mary Cox and Melody Hecker; step-daughter Kelsi Groth and husband Jeff of South Dakota; step-son Chip Gunderson and wife Chelsea of Onalaska; her 3 sisters, Judy Powers and husband Marvin, Janie Dominy and husband Mike, and Tommie Smith and husband Boyd; brother-in-law Doug Gunderson; sister-in-laws Jean Johnson and husband Mike, Joanne Holmberg, and Janet Jaques; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.

Visitation with the family is scheduled for Thursday, September 13 from 6-8 PM at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis. Funeral Services will be Friday, September 14 at 10 AM in the Chapel at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis, with burial later that day at 3:30 PM at the Salem Cemetery in Rusk, Texas.
