RALPH I. WESTBROOK, JR. 61, was called home to the Lord after a short, yet courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, October 6, 2011 in The Woodlands, Texas surrounded by his family who loved him dearly. He was a loving husband, father, family man, Paw Paw, caring co-worker, friend, and enthusiastic (yet sometimes frustrated) Longhorns' fan. However, every now and then he would don a Baylor hat just to appease one of his daughters. A forever proud father, Ralph attended every one of his son's soccer games and probably cheered the loudest. Most recently, he was well enough to walk his "baby girl" youngest daughter down the aisle as a beaming father of the bride. He was born in windy Corpus Christi, Texas and lived in The Woodlands since 1989. He was a Payroll Analyst for 20 years and employed by Aon Hewitt in The Woodlands. He was well known for having an avid green thumb and was able to grow a hibiscus plant just by looking at it. Although his disease weakened his body, it never robbed him of his quick wit, which lasted through his final days.

He was preceded in death by his father Ralph I. Westbrook, Sr. He is survived by his loving wife and high school sweet heart of 42 years, Deena Westbrook, his four devoted children (and biggest fans), Kori Westbrook of Houston, Ryan Westbrook of The Woodlands, Mindy (Jeremy) Cox of Humble, and Melanie (Jeff) Burrows of The Woodlands, his grandchildren (and lights of his life) Magnolia and Caleb Cox, mother Willie Mae Westbrook of Houston, sister Karen Westbrook Olds of Ft. Worth, uncle Don Westbrook of Odem, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The memorial service will be held Monday, October 10, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to MD Anderson in Ralph's name.

We will miss everything about him. Dear Dad, you did good
