Randy Lewis Tyra, 63, of Montgomery, Texas passed away August 27, 2012.

Visitation will be held at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Montgomery, Texas on Thursday, August 30 between 6:00 - 8:00pm. The funeral service will be held at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Montgomery, Texas on Friday, August 31st at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt Pleasant Cemetery.

Randy is preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Tyra and Rebecca Eunice Sapp; and his brother Daniel Tyra.

Randy is survived by his wife Donna Tyra of Montgomery; step-son David White and wife Evelyn of Houston; grandchildren Garrett White, Gavin White, Lance Carter and Tyler Molnar of Houston; sisters Evelyn Parzyck and husband Chester of Montgomery, Valeta Skweres and husband Stanley of The Woodlands, Susan Stanton and husband Tommy of Willis, and Wanda Murray and husband Bill of Avery; aunt Marcia Smith, aunt Molly Fletcher, uncle Tommy Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews & cousins.

Randy was born in Bakersfield, California to Woodrow and Rebecca Eunice Tyra on May 18, 1949. His family moved to Texas when he was a young child and he graduated from Montgomery High School. He served in the United States Navy. He worked in carpentry for 40+ years. He enjoyed fishing, family and sports. In addition to being devoted to his family, Randy was a very giving and loving friend to many.
