Ray C. Rigsby was born at home on November 30, 1939 in Daisetta, Texas to Harmon C. and Iva Lee Rigsby. He went to be with the Lord after a 16 year battle with Parkinsons on January 25, 2014 at Conroe Hospital surrounded by loved ones. He was a graduate of Conroe High School and went on to serve his country in the Air Force at home and abroad. After being discharged from the Air Force, he went into the appliance service business for himself and then to owning R & R Salvage for 20 years. After retiring, Ray and his wife enjoyed life by traveling, fishing, & winning at dominos. Ray is survived by his wife of 38 years, Ruby Rigsby; sons Howard Perkins, Leonard Rigsby, Albert Rigsby & wife Donna of Conroe, and Tommy James of Long Beach, CA; daughters Patti Averitt & husband Lenny of Conroe, and Pennie Perkins of Brenham, TX; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Ray is also survived by two sisters, Fay Davidson & Mary Hay; numerous nieces & nephews; his church family; and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Michael Rigsby; and daughter Pam James. A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Groceville on January 31, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to First Baptist Church of Groceville in memory of Ray C. Rigsby. The physical address: 1925 FM 1484.
