Richard "Dick" Byington

Obituary
The Guest Book is expired.

Richard "Dick" Byington rose up to the golden gates of Heaven on July 19, 2016. His passing was as peaceful as a floating butterfly.

Born 1932 and raised in Tampa, Florida, he is preceded in death by his father, mother and 2 brothers (Carl Amos Byington, Gussie, Carl, and Charles).

Some of his many milestones:

Eagle scout, like his 2 brothers, swim team captain Plant HS Tampa, Florida, graduated class of '53' from The University of Florida, honorably served his country world wide as a 1st Lieutenant in the US Army, happily married to his loving wife Dodie for 60 years, became executive vice-president of Ideal Cement Corporation until his retirement, club champion Diamond Hills Golf Brandon, FL, visited all 50 states, rode his bicycle from Conroe, Texas to his high school 50th reunion in Tampa, Florida, snow skied just about every mountain in North America, volunteered re-building the 18 golf cart paths of River Plantation, devoted parishioner of St. James & Trinity Episcopal churches.

He will be remembered as a great son, supportive brother, loving husband, caring father / uncle / father-in-law / grandfather and a good neighbor. He was a friend to all he met.

Dick is survived by his loving and devoted spouse Dodie, their 3 sons Richard, Kenneth & Stephen. Their wives, Ninfa & Sherry & his grandchildren Bradley, Sophia & Natalie.

In lieu of flowers, Dick would have wanted everyone to go and do what he would do: find someone that needs a helping hand and be there to help.
