Robert Larsen Burch, PHD, born April 6, 1959, passed away on March 25, 2015 after a lengthy battle with CLL. Our family would like to make special mention to the doctors, nurses and staff at MD Anderson Cancer Center for the professional and caring way that they helped him and his family to cope with his illness. In particular, we want to mention the late Dr. Charles A. Koller, his physician and friend who treated Robert, and Dr. Jan Burger and his staff for their continuing diligence in trying to find a way to keep Robert with us. Robert Larsen Burch was born in Huntington, New York. He graduated from Conroe High School and then went on to earn his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Nuclear Engineering at Northwestern University. He later earned his Phd. for Mechanical Engineering in Fluid Dynamics at Penn State. He is survived by his father, Robert F. Burch and his sister, Mary Ellen Burch and numerous relatives. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Barbara Ann Burch. We would also like to include Mrs. Sue Jankowski and Lisa Colbert, his very special friends who were very kind and supportive of not only Robert but his family as well. If you would like to make a donation to the MD Anderson Cancer Research Center in Robert's name, we can help to find a cure for this devastating disease.
