Robert Nolan Morgan, Ph.D., 54, died peacefully September 6 at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. Robert received both a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Education and a Master of Science Degree in Agronomy from Texas A&M University; his Ph.D. in Plant Breeding/Genetics was conferred from the University of Georgia. Robert was a teacher by nature. In addition to teaching in the academic world, he spent time in farmers' fields and conducting field days to help cattle producers. Robert is also remembered for his love of scouting. He helped establish BSA Troop 351, Montgomery; serving in many leadership roles and mentoring scouts on their path toward Eagle.

Robert lived his faith every day. He is survived by his wife, three children, family, and friends. A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate his life on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 3:30 P.M. at Montgomery United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Robert's memory to either BSA Troop 351, Montgomery or to the Mason Guest House of Emory Hospital—Atlanta, Georgia. The Mason House provides lodging for transplant patients and families before, during, and after transplant. Checks may be made to MUMC denoting in the memo line which option is preferred. Mailing address for MUMC is P.O. Box 1330, Montgomery, TX 77356. Condolences at www.shmfh.com .
