Robert "Bob" B. Swanzy, 92, of Conroe, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017. Bob was born October 12, 1925 in Milam County, Texas to Hilliard Dale and Helen Elizabeth Swanzy. After his discharge from the Army, he moved to Port Arthur, Texas to go to work at the Texaco Refinery. While in Port Arthur, Bob also met the love of his life, Monette Robinson, whom he married in 1952. He would remain employed by Texaco in various capacities until his retirement in 1982. After retirement, Bob and Monette moved to Willis, Texas. As a young man, Mr. Swanzy joined the Masonic Lodge and advanced to become a 32 nd -degree Mason. He was a lifetime member of Rosebud Lodge #745 and past Master of Port Arthur Lodge #1264 and San Jacinto Lodge #106. He received two Golden Trowel awards for his service to the lodge.

Mr. Swanzy was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Monette, his parents, sister, Helen Dale Hyde; and brother, Joe Dean Swanzy. He is survived by his children, Vickie and Tom Stewart(Conroe), Arleen and John Broughton(Buna), Allen Swanzy(Silsbee) and Joy and Kevin Hindmon(Tomball); grandchildren, James Swanzy(Zachary, LA), Ashley Broughton(Buna), Amy and Shane Bradshaw(Buna), Monica Nicole and Darby Hindmon(Tomball), and Jack Broughton(Buna); great grandchildren, Adler and Hayden Bradshaw(Buna). Mr. Swanzy is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Ray and Daisy Swanzy (Port Arthur), Carolyn Hurt (Sanford, North Carolina), Billy and Minnie Swanzy (Buffalo Gap), and Betty Smith (Port Arthur). He is also survived by his brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Thomas Robinson (Conroe), Patsy McDuffie (Baton Rouge, LA) and Rodger and Marguerite Robinson (Franklin, LA). Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends also survive. He is also survived by devoted friends Tom Willis and Herman Snoe.

Services will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 10 a.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Rev. Kevin Hindmon officiating. San Jacinto Lodge #106 will perform graveside Masonic rites in Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m.
