Ronald Paul Cross was born October 11, 1933 in Kansas City, Missouri. He passed away peacefully after a brief illness February 3, 2015 at his home in Conroe.

The Cross family moved to Texas when Ronald was 8 years old. He served in the United States Air Force from 1952 - 1956 where he was assigned to the NSA as a cryptographer. After leaving the Air Force, he returned home to Houston where he and Cleta, his wife whom he married in 1952, raised their family. He worked for Crown Petroleum in Pasadena for 30 years, retiring in 1995.

Ronald was energetic and fun. He enjoyed travel, sports, fishing, gardening, playing 42, and most of all his family.

He was a faithful Christian who witnessed by example. He was a member of Market Street Baptist Church in Houston for over 40 years where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and Director of Children's Ministries. In 1997 he and Cleta moved to Conroe. They joined First Baptist Conroe and volunteered at the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen. He was a dedicated member of the Encouragers Sunday School Class and participated in the Family Promise Program which ministers to homeless families.

He is survived by his loving, wife of 62 years, Cleta Goforth Cross and their 3 children and spouses, Rhonda Cross Harrison and Allen Harrison, Karen Cross Harrison and Mike Harrison, Mike Cross and Kathy Cross, 4 grandchildren, and one great grandchild Mindy Ochsner and Nathan Ochsner, Amanda Cross, Justin Cross, Colleen Harrison, Cierra Williams.

Ronald enjoyed life, lived it well and had no regrets. He leaves us with countless good memories and blessings.
