Ronald Edwin "Ron" Henderson was born on June 8, 1945 in Borger, Texas and died on May 18, 2015 in Conroe, Texas. Ron was the youngest and fourth born child of J. D. and Flora Henderson. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Jerome Henderson.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Paula; daughter Lisa Kennedy, son, Stephen Kennedy and his wife Stacey; brother, Buz Henderson of Longview; sister, Sandra Brown and husband Hylton of Malakoff; sister-in-law, Mabelle Henderson of Longview; seven nieces and nephews and their spouses; twelve great nieces and nephews, along with a host of friends, neighbors, former co-workers and his dog Abbey.

Ron grew up in Lubbock, Texas. He graduated from Lubbock High School with the class of 1963. Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Army. Proudly serving his country, after being trained in the Optical field, he was stationed in Germany for his entire tenure. He dearly loved sharing stories about his military service and his life experiences while he lived abroad. He returned to the U.S.A. as a dedicated Veteran and retired from the Montgomery Post Office as a rural mail carrier.

Christian, believer, kind, compassionate, giving, loving, unforgettable, and a smile that brought joy and laughter that could light up the world. Ron will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., at the April Sound Church, 67 1/2 April Wind South, Montgomery, Texas 77356 in the April Sound sub-division. Rev. David Lindwall and Rev. Hiram "Doc" Jones will officiate the service. Honorary pallbearers, Glenn Schneider, Kenny McMillan, Clint Price, Frank Gatlin, Tom Schmitz, John Harbin, Stephen Kennedy; nephews, Tim, Kirk, David, Todd; great nephews, Joshua, Alex, Mac, Trey, Tate and Samuel.
