Ronald Leslie Hurley, age 91, passed away March 11, 2013 in Conroe, Texas. Born October 8, 1921 in San Antonio, Texas. He joined the CCC in the 1940's and was drafted into the Army Air Corp at the beginning of WWII. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 22 years of service. He settled in South Montgomery County in 1969. He started Hurley Sand and Gravel business and was later employed by the Woodlands Mill. Ron devoted his life to his family and friends. He was an avid musician/singer and loved country and western music. He was also creative and could build anything. He enjoyed much of his time on his tractor working his property on Hurley Lane, and he and his wife Zola loved the years they spent together traveling across the USA in their motor home. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Margaret Bragg Hurley; his sons, Robin Joseph Hurley and Michael Andrew Hurley; and his grandchildren, John David McDaniel and Jacqueline Michelle Shayuh. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Zola Hurley; his children, Ronalyn Hurley, David Hurley, Christopher Hurley and wife Trisha, Scott Hurley and wife Beth, Sheri Hurley Shayuth and husband Brian; grandchildren, Lesa Ford, Kelly Polk, Kristin Hurley Angulo, Jessica Shayuth, and Maya Jon Baugher; great-grandchildren, Ryan Ford, Ashley Young, Michael Mitchell; and great-great grandchild, Lilly Ford. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Freeway, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 15, 2013 in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven. A reception gathering will follow at his home at Lake Walden.
