Rosemary Draehn

Obituary
The Guest Book is expired.

Rosemary Draehn, age 76, died peacefully in her home on August 6, 2015, after a long battle with COPD.

She was born December 14, 1938 to parents Otis and Minnie Whiddon and grew up in Conroe. Rosemary then spent her married life in Houston for over 25 years being a stay-at-home Mom. She had many talents and was very creative during those years, playing the piano by ear and creating many original works of art through acrylic and oil paints. Rosemary was also an amazing seamstress; she sewed clothing for family members as well as beautiful home furnishings. A few years after losing her husband she moved back to Conroe to live close to family.

Rosemary was well known as "The Greeter" at Walmart on Loop 336 in Conroe. She was "Rosie" to everyone who worked there and there wasn't a customer she didn't know or remember as they walked through the doors. If you saw her there, you know she always had a bow in her hair to match the outfit for the day; in fact, at last count she owned 82 of them! She retired from Walmart after 10 years when her health began declining. Her daughter moved in with her in 2011, and was with her until her death.

Rosemary is preceded in death by both of her parents, a sister Carolyn Whiddon, her husband Edwin Draehn and grandson Greg Ramsey. She is survived by her daughter Roxane Draehn Baak, granddaughter Mary-Elizabeth Baak, two stepsons Larry Draehn and Ricky Draehn and their children. She is also survived by two brothers, Reynold Whiddon (her twin) and Everitt Whiddon and their families.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
