Roy Ray Vaughan, formerly of Conroe, TX, passed from this life at his home in Rogers, Arkansas on February 23, 2015. He was born September 7, 1931 to Birdie Webb Vaughan and Non Thomas Vaughan in Big Sandy, Texas.

Roy is survived by his wife of 63 years, Kathryn Walding Vaughan; daughters, Zoe Vaughan Renfro and Kim Vaughan Matlock; daughter-in-law Patsie Riley Vaughan; grandsons, Christopher Micheal Vaughan and James Roy Vaughan; "adopted" family, Mike, Kimma, Kaylee, Brookelynn, Kirsten and Benjamin Harper; sister-in-law Joyce Walding Norman and husband Keith; brothers-in-law, James Walding and wife Margaret and David Wagner; sisters-in- law, LouElla McCarty; Eunice Walding, Cara Dawn Walding; numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews; and a myriad of precious friends.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, and his son, Zane Roy Vaughan.

Roy was a machinist by trade, but also a salesman, a manufacturing executive and a teacher. He was an ordained deacon in Southern Baptist churches he attended, taught Sunday school and Bible Studies, was a licensed minister and served as a bi-vocational interim pastor. Roy served as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for the Montgomery County, Texas Sheriff's Office. He was active in professional organizations and received many commendations for his work and professionalism.

Roy was dedicated to his family, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle.

Metcalf Funeral Home will have visitation on Thursday February 26, 2015 at 5-7pm with the funeral service to be on Friday February 27, 2015 at 10am. Interment will follow at County Line Cemetery.
