Ruthie Gay "Dimp" Hughes passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 in Conroe, Texas. Ruthie was born in Conroe, Texas on October 26, 1926. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ida Perry Wiggins and Joe Wiggins, her husband, Larry Edwards Hughes, granddaughter, Jessica Gay Hughes, and siblings, Lucy "Bay" Tinlin, John Henry "Sonny Boy" Wiggins, James F. Wiggins, Joe "P Nut" Wiggins, Joe Windel Wiggins, Benjamin Wiggins and Gerald Raymond Wiggins. She is survived by her sons, Larry Wayne Hughes and and wife Joy, and Ronald Edward Hughes and wife Cara. Also surviving are granddaughters, Carol Hughes McGinnis and husband, John McGinnis, Maggie Hughes Jones, and husband Royce Jones, Amanda Hughes Brenham and husband Charles Brenham, and Heather Hughes. Great grandchildren surviving are Scott Scarborough, Dylan Busteed, Payton Busteed, Brooke Brenham, Delaney Brenham and Ethan McGinnis.

Ruthie and her husband Larry owned a dairy in Willis, Texas and True Value Hardware in New Waverly, Texas and a beauty shop. In her retirement, Ruthie operated Country Quilts and Crafts in Schulenburg, Texas. She adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was happiest when she was surrounded by them. Ruthie spent her free time doing arts and crafts and crocheting.

Visitation will be Friday, May 15, 2015 at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis, Texas 6-8 pm. Graveside services will be Saturday, May 16 th . at 2:30 pm at Andrews Chapel Cemetery, County Road 221, Schulenburg, Texas.
