Scott Allen Jones, 62, of Conroe passed away Friday, June 22, 2012.

A true patriot, Mr. Jones dedicated his life to serving his country and local community. As a Marine, Mr. Jones served in Vietnam where he earned various medals including two purple hearts. As a civilian, he exemplified the attitude of service before self as chaplain for the Marine Corps League and active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Lions Club, and the Montgomery County Fair Association. Survivors include his mother Robbie Jones Foreman of Livingston, TX; his wife and best friend of 31 years, Pamela Jones; his daughter Heather (Sam) Baird of San Antonio, TX; his siblings: Kathleen (Bob) Adams, Dana (BJ) Heathcoat of Livingston, TX, Julie Nadley of Philadelphia, PA, Wayne (Chris) Whitacre of Oysterville, WA, Leslie Whitacre of Pharr, TX, Lauren Schwartz of Austin, TX, Michael (Veronica) Whitacre of Pharr, TX ; and his grandchildren: Sean Baird and Meredith Baird. He is preceded in death by his father JB Jones of Livingston, TX, his sister Maureen Lemke of Sarasota, FL, and brother-in-law David Nadley of Philadelphia, PA. A celebration of Scott's life will be held at West Conroe Baptist Church (1855 Longmire Rd, Entrance A-2) this Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 2pm.
