Shirley Ann McElroy, 66, went to be with the Lord Thursday, January 3, 2013. Shirley was born Sunday, October 20, 1946, in Highland, Illinois to Charles Fulton and Catherine Lucille Dortch, both of whom precede her in death. Shirley is also preceded in death by her brother Charles Dortch; sisters Connie Schlorff, and Donna McElroy. Shirley was an active member of the community but her life's passion was sharing Jesus with everyone she met and serving through many church ministries. She was a woman of prayer with a servant's heart. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 45 years Rolland McElroy; children Toni Rosenbaum and husband Jay, Linda Irvine and husband Michael, Jerri Crofts and Fred Baker, Ronald McElroy and wife Andrea; brother Danny Dortch; sister Barbara Powell; grandchildren Lauren, Brandon, Matthew, Abby, Ben, Heath, Rusty, Dylan, Suzy, Lacee, Susana, Ian; great-grandchildren Teegan and Kenlee; as well as numerous other loving family and friends. Funeral services were held at Cross Community Church on Sunday, January 6, 2013, led by Pastor Maddoux, Pastor Colston and Pastor Pockets. Special reading by Pastor Bob & Frieda White. Graveside services were held at The McElroy Family Cemetary on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 10am. Video of the celebration service can be viewed @ https://vimeo.com/56911035 Password: "Shirley".
