Sibbie Ella Lang Black Hudson passed over to the "other land" on June 1, 2013 in her birthplace, (Conroe) Cut & Shoot, Texas, surrounded by loving family. Born February 6, 1926 to Lottie Harris & Claude Lang she migrated with her mother and younger siblings to Ajo, Arizona to wait out WW II, while her dad and elder brother served in the Navy. There she met and married fellow Texan, Norman Lee Black, Dec. 18, 1943. Sibbie graduated from Ajo High School in 1944 still using her maiden name, Lang. In Ajo she had her two children, Mary & Dave after many years of trying. Her marriage lasted 21 years until her husband's early death in 1965.

While in Ajo she worked for Bowen's Dry Cleaners and was well known for her love of all animals, gaining some notoriety raising a bobcat, Henry. This Love of animals continued to her death and she leaves behind her beloved Xolo dog Myron, three feral cats, 30 turtles & a forest full of wild animals she fed. (now lovingly cared for by her sister, Mary Etta Lang.) After her husband's death she remarried, divorced and continued her education at BrighamYoung University. Sibbie received her RN cap at a ceremony in 1982 in Lubbock, Texas from St. Mary's Hospital but was unable to complete her internship due to a genetic back issue that prevented the hospital from insuring her.

Her greatest dream was over but she moved on to Texas where she practiced private duty nursing for Alzheimer's patients working until age 80. A non-smoker, lung cancer struck and despite a valiant fight it was the only thing her great resolve could not conquer. She passed surrounded by the devoted cousins, Renae Harris Neal, Dr. Daniel Harris & her sister and caretaker, Mary Etta Lang. All her grandchildren had visited her in her last days which was her greatest comfort. Her Irish sense of humor was present until the last day and this obit was approved by phone three days before her passing. She will be so missed.

A mighty force of good and the best friend any animal or reptile ever had, especially turtles. She counted on the Rainbow Bridge having them all lined up to greet her.

Sibbie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norman "Jiggs" Black, brother's, Dave Lafayette Lang & John Austin Lang and her grandson, Roger Glenn Black. She is survived by her daughter, Mary W. Black, Flagstaff, AZ; son, Dave Lee Black & wife Debbie of Glendale, AZ; grandsons, Norman Lee Black & partner Michael of Wisconsin, Patrick Jason Black & wife Stefanie of Phoenix, Ryan Lee Black & wife Amanda of Humble, TX and beloved only granddaughter, Kristine Rae Black Binford & husband Stephen of Cypress, Texas.
