Stella Mae Lindsey, beloved wife for 60 years to Gaylord Beuron (G.B.) Lindsey (deceased), passed away peacefully at her home on December 2nd, 2011 to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Born January 28, 1929 in Lubbock, Texas, she was the loving and supportive mother to Connie Jo Champion, Gary Drew Lindsey, Kim Rene Burnicle, Gaylord Scott Lindsey and Lalaneya Ann Whitaker. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Kelly Yvette Alexander, Jill Marie Heise, Carmen Melanie Champion, Jessica Ruth Foster, Bevan Drew Lindsey, Casey Dean Burnicle, Kara Lindsey Burnicle, Corbin Drew Whitaker, Sarah Ashley Whitaker and Luke Mendel Lindsey and her great-grandchildren Eric Austin Champion, Drake Champion-Ball, Courtni Jolynn Foster, Davis Shane Heise, December Marie Heise, Duke River Heise and great-great-grandchild Layci Faith Zwernemann. She is also survived by her two brothers, Jerry Don Balch and Lonnie Balch, sons-in-law Joe Sparky Burnicle and Corby Christopher Whitaker and grandsons-in-law Shane Michael Heise and Justin Jeffrey Hersey. Stella was a devoted wife, mother, nana and friend. She was a woman of strong character, integrity and generous spirit. Stella had many life-long friends and could make a best friend within hours of meeting them. She was fun to be around, a talented gardener, quilter and painter. She enjoyed reading, beachcombing, traveling, entertaining friends and family and was a fan of all sports and of course, The Wheel of Fortune. Stella loved to have visitors and enjoyed sharing stories through tears, laughter and words of wisdom. She was passionate about all things she believed in and was a fighter through and through. You could often hear her say.... "I don't know nothin about nothin, except Jesus loves me" and at other times she would laugh and say "I'm just gonna play like Scarlett today and I will think about that tomorrow." We will miss our mom, nana, sister and friend.

A funeral service in memory of Stella will be held on Tuesday, December 6th, 2011 at 3:00pm at Cashner Funeral Home located at 801 Teas Road, Conroe Texas 77303 with the Rev. Dr. Curtis Crenshaw Th. D. of Saint Francis of the Reformed Episcopal Church officiating.
