age 74, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2012 at the Conroe home of his daughter where he had lived for the past eight years. He was born on June 28, 1937 in Houston and worked for over 20 years at Dee Brass Foundry and almost 20 years at Irvington Pentecostal Church. The past eight years, he has enjoyed working as a greeter for the Walmart at I45N and FM242, where he made many friends. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching early Western movies and his family will always treasure the bird houses he built for them.

He is survived by his daughters, Sheila Granger, Rebecca Authur, and Gloria Styers and husband Robert; son, Sterling Authur Jr.; grandchildren, Dustin and Damon Anderson, Ashton and Trace Styers, and Emily, Austin and Jared Authur; and the most recent joy in his life, his great grandson Kolton Anderson; sister, Jean Woellert; and his special friends at WalMart, Dale, Eugene, Cleo and Charles.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Eickenhorst Funeral Services, 1712 N. Frazier at Wilson, Suite. 115, Conroe, TX. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 27, 2012 in Brookside Cemetery, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX. Those wishing to post tributes to the family may do so at
