Susan Miller Donnell, 76, of Conroe, Texas passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 in Lynchburg, Virginia while visiting family for the holidays.

She was born in Cadillac, MI, December 23, 1938. She attended Mount Holyoke University, graduated from Sam Houston State University, and was a retired research scientist for Teleametrics. She was a devoted wife to her high school sweetheart and best friend, Dave Donnell, a loving mother to her three children, a giving Nana to her 13 grandchildren, and a loyal friend to many. She was an avid reader, dedicated to her Conroe community, and a longtime member of St. James the Apostle Church. Those who knew her would best describe her as strong, loyal and wise. She will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Robert David Donnell.

She is survived by two sons, Steve Donnell of Humble, TX and Bob Donnell and wife Wendy of Laredo, TX; one daughter, Jeanne Brooks and husband Don of Lynchburg, VA; 13 grandchildren, Amber, Blain, Beau, Shea, Bailey, David, Brenna, Derek, Aaron, Keri, Allison, Taylor and Kelsey and two great grandchildren, Raeleigh and Reuben.

A Memorial celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 17, at St. James the Apostle Church, 1803 Highland Hollow in Conroe. In lieu of flowers, her grateful family appreciates donations made in her name to St. James' memorial fund or a .

Whitten Timberlake Chapel, Lynchburg, Virginia is serving the family.
