Thomas Williams "Bro. Tom" Clawson III, 91, resident of Conroe, Texas, died on November 3, 2015 at his home from natural causes. He was born May 12, 1924 in Houston, Texas to Thomas Williams Clawson, II and Frances Edna Rogillio. He had one sister, Lois Ruth Lee.

He was married to Virginia Wilbanks for 55 years. They both graduated college at the University of Corpus Christi. Rev. Clawson went on to pursue theological studies at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. During his ministry that spanned over fifty years, he pastored in churches from California to Texas. He later answered a call to full time evangelism and was active in leadership roles in the Conference of Texas Baptist Evangelists. His sermons were filled with stories, humor and he was known to break into song while preaching.

He was a veteran of World War II where he fought and served in the United States Marine Corp in the South Pacific. He re-enlisted later to serve in Korea. His three children and their families survive him. His children are: Cynthia Clawson Courtney and husband, Ragan Courtney, Patti Clawson Berry, Tommy Clawson and wife Debra Clawson.

His grandchildren are: Nicholas Scott Clawson and wife Leslie Williams Clawson, William Clawson Courtney and his wife Melissa Stone Courtney, Matthew Courtney Berry, Lily Katherine Courtney, Andrew Lane Clawson, Lucas Clawson Berry. His great-grandchildren are: Evan Clawson and Rebecca Clawson.

His family is extended to nephews, cousins and dear friends that have touched his life and ministry through the years. Those relationships are as loving as his

physical family.

His wife, Virginia Wilbanks Clawson, 1999, predeceases him.

The services for Rev. Clawson will begin November 10, 2015 at 10:00 AM for viewing and visitation to be followed by the service at 11:00 at First Baptist Conroe. The Reverend Merle Blado will officiate. The pallbearers are: Nicholas Scott Clawson, William Clawson Courtney, Matthew Courtney Berry, Lily Katherine Courtney, Andrew Lane Clawson, and Lucas Clawson Berry.

The body will be interred at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas following the service. The Metcalf Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
