Tyrene Beth Toomes, 68, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, January 10, 2015 after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born on March 3, 1946 in Corpus Christi, TX.

Tyrene was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Naomi Rigg.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Robert Toomes as well as 5 children: son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Kathy Dunn of Houston, Jerry Toomes, Ricky Toomes and Michael Toomes of The Woodlands, TX, and daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Jason Lawrence of The Woodlands, TX. She also left behind four grandchildren: Madison and Emily Toomes, Ty and Dash Lawrence. She is also survived by her twin sister, Torrie Englert, of The Woodlands, TX and two brothers, Mahlon and Norma Rigg of Aransas Pass, TX, Myron and Jay Rigg of Austin as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was an active member of First Baptist Church Conroe since 1978 where she cultivated an unfaltering Christian faith in God.

She will be remembered as a selfless wife and mother who always had an encouraging word even when times were tough. She had a quiet strength and a heart filled with love and kindness. She will be missed dearly.

Visitation will be 5:00PM to 7:00PM Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Metcalf Funeral Directors. Funeral service will be held at 2:00PM Friday, January 16, 2015 at First Baptist Church Conroe. Interment will follow at Garden Park Cemetery.
