Verna Mae Maduzia passed away at her assisted care facility in Houston, Texas on Friday morning, March 18, 2015. The cause of death was heart failure. A longtime resident of Houston, she was in her 93 rd year.

Born October 4, 1923 in West Columbia, Texas, she was the daughter of Ola and George M. Graham, Sr. of Conroe, Texas. She was raised in Conroe and graduated from Conroe High school. Verna was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Alton R. Graham, husband Robert L. Maduzia Sr., and sons, James A. Maduzia and Robert L. Maduzia, Jr.

Verna is survived by sisters Erma Wise of Willis, Texas, Faye Johnson of Georgetown, Texas and brother George M. Graham, Jr. of Corpus Christi. Surviving children are William Maduzia (wife Elizabeth), Thomas Maduzia, Richard Maduzia, and Randall Maduzia. Grandchildren are James (wife Grace), Anne, Logan, Samuel and William as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will begin at 12 p.m., Monday, March 28, at the Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas. A reception for guests is scheduled at 11 a.m. just prior to the chapel service. Immediately following the service, interment will be held at the Conroe Memorial Park cemetery on the Conroe-Porter Road (FM 1314 at Foster Drive).

Relatives and friends are encouraged to attend the pre-memorial reception. A family and friends are invited to gather at a nearby home immediately following the graveside service.
