Vernon DeVerts, 67, of Montgomery, Texas, passed away on September 12, 2012. He was born on April 22, 1945 in Houston, Texas to Vernon Armistice and Ida Bell Deverts. Vernon proudly served his country in the United States Army for two years. After the Army he worked for 25 years until retiring from Weingarten's. After retirement he opened his own printing Business until he became the General Manager for Blairs Supermarket for 10 Years. From 1992-1995 he was president of the Houston Farmer Ranch Club. He was a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and a member of the Hold'em and Hit'em club.

Vernon is survived by his loving wife Holly DeVerts; daughter Michelle Brooks; mother-in-law Sandra Blair; father-in-law Thomas Gough; sisters Louis Busa, Pauline Walkoviak and Sherrie Mozingo; grandchildren Mallory Brooks, Emilee Brooks and Natalie Brooks; special friends Bill and Sharron Grammer and a host of family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 14, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. in the Cashner Colonial Chapel with a private family burial to follow.
